Society often makes you want to leave to the woods, be isolated somewhere in a place out of reach from interpersonal suffering and struggle for pleasure. Having experienced actually being far from society, I learn that the answer is not in the woods. The modern romanticization of "escaping to nature" emerges from those who cannot handle the struggle one must endure to reap the fruits of interpersonal relationships. Only those who take granted the beautiful complexities of life wish to escape from it, not knowing the barren field of aimless repetitions that lies within the woods. Let us struggle and stand in the face of the rushing waves, the roaring fires, for the answer is not in isolation, but wrapped in petals of pain and suffering.
